At the heart I am a Colourist the majority of my work is characterised by the use of heightened vibrant colour. Using the three traditional disciplines of Still Life, Landscape and Figuration as a starting point the picture is taken on a journey via abstraction.
Within Life Drawing my concern is to explore the dynamics of the human form rather than simply trying to replicate a static pose. The possibities of working from the model open up many avenues and the influence of the figure can be found in both my landscape and abstract works.
I provide a varied range of workshops teaching drawing skills, acrylic painting, life drawing craft workshops. Working with a variety of ages and abilities. The aim is to provide all students with the knowledge to make good artwork. But above all have fun!
I am also involved in the IMP.art Community Arts project based at St Botolph's Church Hall, Lincoln. Visit www.impartlincoln.co.uk to find out more.
